In reply to <a href="https://spirographicart.com/2017/11/11/colouring-wild-gears-designs/#comment-52603">Sarah</a>.

That's excellent that you have a vintage Super Spirograph. I have one; they're better quality than the new ones. Once you get comfortable with it, you may like to try the designs on the refill pack that I posted recently. https://spirographicart.com/2026/01/13/super-spirograph-refill-kit/

Good pens make a big difference. The pens I review here are generally available at office supply stores, although to get a wide range of colors, you may have to order a set online. https://spirographicart.com/2011/12/19/spirograph-pens/

And don't press too hard. Felt-tip pens help in that regard. Enjoy your new hobby!

Absolutely beautiful designs, you are very talented. My husband bought me the vintage Super Spirograph online from eBay. Fortunately, All of the pieces are there, including the instruction manual. I'll need to buy new pens. In the meantime I'm just using Bic Biros. But I need finer tip pens. Much as I enjoy 'Spirographing' It's not as easy as one might think, perfecting a new skill takes time. The thing I find annoying is the smaller wheel, for example, doesn't always run smoothly around the larger one, and 'goes off' alignment, making a mess. However, I'm sure I'll improve. Once I do, I'll treat myself to the Wild Gears set for my birthday, or Christmas.
